Our Farm Hands

Summa Cum Laude and Kahuna are the two llama wethers who "hang out" with our flock and keep everyone safe. Summa stays with the does and babies and Kahuna is "one of the guys". Although coyote are heard howling in nearby hills, none has hurt our animals. Summa, in particular, takes his duties very seriously. He "checks in" each kid as it is born and patiently lies quietly a few weeks later while the rambunctious youngsters jump on top of his back and pick hay out of his coat.

Erin (Go Braugh) came with us to Oregon from the midwest seven years ago. After living with Pat in smaller Salem locations, she relishes her life on the farm. She is chief goat associate and is always on hand at feeding and chore times. Nobody considers Erin a serious herder and there have even been times when she has been butted by a goat or chased by a sheep. A former mom herself, she finds the goat kids especially fascinating. If you come to visit, make sure to pet Erin first, last, and in the middle!
