The Verdant Vistas Kids of 2008

Verdant Vistas offers you a rainbow of gorgeous kids and raw and processed fiber--reds, browns, blacks, caramels and whites. These kids come from our four award-winning bucklines and the prize-winning PPP Voyager to assure quality and choice. Pygora Breeders Association (PBA) registration numbers are included with buck & doe info so you may look up family histories in the online herdbook that is available on the PBA website. This is a very special group that features a wide array of colors & fiber types with especially lovely browns. There is hardly a shy child to be found and all are lively & personality-plus.

	Naomi's Girls--2 doelings Tattoo: VV Y1 ('Princess Fiona'--sold), VV Y2 ('SassShay'--sold) Birthdate: 3/08/08 Color: Dark Brown with white markings Sire: Verdant Vistas Ian (06-24M) Dam: Weeping Willow Pygoras Naomi (06-28F) What a way to begin the season! First-time mom, Naomi, delivered & cleaned up these lovely lasses all by herself. The girls are a terrific dark brown accented in white--very soft & thick fiber. Their personalities are warm and their outlooks adventurous. They will be going to two lucky families in Michigan (they're pretty lucky themselves!).
	Colene's Doeling & Buckling Tattoo: VV Y3 (buckling 'Suede'--sold), VV Y4 ('Salem'--sold) Birthdate: 3/08/08 Color: Black & Black Agouti with white markings Sire: Verdant Vistas Ian (06-24M) Dam: Verdant Vistas Colene (06-45F) These gregarious, striking youngsters are a tribute to the quality bloodlines of those who came before them. Their straight, strong bodies; tightly-curled, dense fleeces; and confident, playful approach to life reflect years of careful breeding. Doeling, "Salem," will live in northwestern Oregon and her large, thoroughly-bucky brother is heading for New York as a distinguished pygora herd sire. He's a Rock Star!
	Willow's Wether & Doeling Tattoo: VV Y5 (wether 'Willy"--sold) & VV Y6 (doeling 'Chloe' --we're keeping her) Birthdate: 3/08/08 Color: Grey Agouti; Dark Caramel Sire: Verdant Vistas Ian (06-22M) Dam: Verdant Vistas Willow (05-47F) When they said that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, they might have been talking about this mother & son team: outgoing, fearless, active, people-goats--and, sometimes,even naughty--but LOTS of fun!) He's found an energetic, special family in North Dakota to hone his many talents (& treasure his perfect form & super fiber). His sister is a beauty with equally soft & sumptuous fiber of the most wonderful deep reddish brown. She fits perfectly into our breeding program and will stay at Verdant Vistas.
	Grainne's Doeling & Wether Tattoo: VV Y7('Jane'--sold), VV Y8 (wether 'Cinnamon'--sold), VVX9 Birthdate: 3/11/08 Color: Medium Caramel; Dark Brown Caramel Sire: McTimmonds Valley Farm Sabastian (03-35M) Dam: Verdant Vistas Grainne (02-18F) These sweet kids are vintage Grainne: she's dainty, he's impish. They're both classic pygora goats with soft, silky fiber. The doeling is a shimmering golden caramel and her brother a deep brown caramel with a distinctive dark dorsel stripe. She will go with Maeve's light daughter to northern Minnesota and he will accompany Breda's Cocobolo to Illinois.
	Concertina's Doelings (PCA) (Black 'Dulce Vita'--sold; 'Wilma R.'--we're keeping her) Birthdate: 3/12/07 Color: Black; Deep Brown Sire: Bryn Hollow Farm's Flannery (07JAS10M) Dam: Shaggy Bear Farms Concertina (06-18F) When we bought Flan & began our journey into PCA goat breeding, we couldn't have dreamed of results like these two. First came the lovely black lady with her thick & wavy fleece. In the dim evening light, her dark sister also appeared black, but the next morning revealed her deep brown hue. The girls are both large & confident, warm & friendly too. The first will travel to her new home in North Dakota and Wilma (named after distance runner, Wilma Rudolf, will stay with us (she is our grandchildren's special charge).
	Shimeeka's Buckling ('Parker'--sold) Tattoo: VV Y11 Birthdate: 3/14/08 Color: Solid Black Sire: Verdant Vistas Dwaine (07-12M) Dam: Shady Creek Farm Shimeeka (04-22F) Now, here is a stellar feller! Shimeeka delivered this handsome lad early one morning, all by herself, and he's been growing larger & more luscious ever since. Solid black in color, his fleece is wavy, soft & shiny. We kept his sire, Dwaine, because he had both PPP Morris' AND BR Arvydas' bloodlines. Now to these assets, Shimeeka's son also adds the genes from the midwest's Shady Creek Farm lines. Although Mom keeps close tabs on him, he's become 'one of the gang' and struts his bucky stuff' with his pasture-mates. This man will make a matchless herd sire in Estacada, OR!
	Maeve's Triplets Tattoo: VV Y12 (doeling, 'Bailey'--sold); VV Y13 (buckling, 'Allister,--sold); VV Y14 (doeling, 'Emma'--sold) Birthdate: 3/20/08 Color: black with white markings; caramel; white Sire: Verdant Vistas Dwaine (07-12M) Dam: Verdant Vistas Maeve (01-27F) This lively group is a case of 'one for me' (Mom's white girl), 'one for you' (Dad's caramel boy) and 'one for Grandpa Mick' (Mick Maguire's black doeling)! Following the lead of Mom, PPP Milady, Maeve produced triplets this year, but they're hardly identical. All, however, are pygora-perfect, active & affectionate. The kids are all going to new families in Minnesota & Michigan.
	Breda's Triplets (1 doeling, 2 boys) Tattoo: VV Y15 (wether Super Sam--sold), VV Y16 (doeling 'VaVaVoom'--sold), VV Y17(buckling 'Cocobolo'--sold) Birthdate: 4/01/08 Color: white; black; brown Sire: Peppermint Pastures Pygoras Voyager Dam: Verdant Vistas Breda (03-45F) Like mother (Maeve), daughter, Breda, gave birth to three healthy, active kids of varying hues. Breda's mate was PPP Voyager, the handsome dark brown buck (owned by Nathan Miyasaki) who won last year's Bold & Beautiful Buck Show. Their kids are white (a real character fellow going to North Dakota), black (doeling going to Michigan) and brown (one neat buckling heading for Illionois). Although our youngest kids, this troop is quickly keeping pace with its older cousins--a very sweet threesome!
