GOATS
AND PREDATORS |
Verdant Vistas and the Mountain Lion Foundation are collaborating to feature a Predator-Proof shelter that protects farm animals from hunters such as cougars, coyote and bear--thus allowing all to live peacefully in the same areas. When hunting animals cannot easily reach their intended prey, they usually go elsewhere looking for food. These secure shelters are inexpensive and can be constructed in a day. They are ideal for small farms and for 4-Hers and other people with few animals. The structure above can hold 20 goats and is used at night. Plans are available from the Mountain Lion Foundation website or from Verdant Vistas.
